Hello, and welcome to the Real Deals Show! In this episode, I will be chatting with Yishi. He and his wife Vivian are entrepreneurs in the design, remodel and building industry since 2014. They started investing in real estate at the beginning of Covid after they had to shut down their business because the clients preferred not having anyone in and out of their houses. This left them thinking… What happens if this shutdown remains for a year? 🤔 They knew they needed a source of passive income they could fall back on to support them. They joined our mentoring program and started looking at places where the price-to-rent ratio made sense for cash flow and started investing in Moncton, New Brunswick. “We first bought a duplex saw the rental potential and started looking for anything 5 units and up from what I learned from the program. Quickly bought another 6 unit… then 8.. then 9.” What an Action Taker, Yishi! 👏 He also shares that their dream was to flip a house one day, and last year they reached that goal, taking on two flipping projects in Ottawa. In this video, he shares some mistakes they made and lessons learned.
👉His advice to the new investors:
1. Make sure to take on a project that has a large enough upside.
2. Run numbers with the worst-case scenario.
3. Have multiple exit strategies.
4. Focus on the lessons gained and stay positive!
